York-Temple Chapter #155, Royal Arch Masons

York Rite I-Care Committee

Recognizing the fact that most Seniors wish to stay in their own homes for as long as possible, the Ohio Masonic Home has developed a new program for Masonic Seniors, entitled I-CARE, which exists in two forms.

First, I-CARE Coordinators, who are professional social workers, have been employed by the Masonic Home to help our members to arrange for in-home services through the community such as cleaning and shopping, personal care, Meals on Wheels, medical transportation, and getting medical equipment. Coordinators can also assist with applying for benefits such as Medicare, Veterans’ and Medicaid.

Again, the work of the I-CARE Coordinators is paid for by the Ohio Masonic Home and so there is no charge to Ohio Masons or their immediate families.

Second, the Ohio Masonic Home will assist Masonic organizations to establish I-CARE Committees. The committees consist of Masons and their family members who volunteer to provide assistance to Masonic Seniors in cooperation with their local I-CARE Coordinator.

Committees may be asked to help rake leaves for a Brother, take his wife to the hospital for a check-up, or drive him to and from a Masonic meeting.

In short, the I-CARE committee is an opportunity for Masons to live the Masonic creed by aiding worthy, distressed Brothers and their families.

If you are interesting in being a part of a York Rite I-CARE committee or if you need the assistance of an I-CARE Coordinator or committee, please contact Chad Simpson, 614-888-8471
